Q. How much are Ready-To-Runs, what is included and how long should these take?
A. Coaches are kit cost plus £200, fully painted - lining has an extra charge. Diesel locos start at kit cost plus £850 and will be priced according to specification - livery, weathering etc. Waiting times are currently around 3 months - this varies according to work load.
Q. Are wheels, motor, couplings etc included in the kit?
A. No, you can purchase these separately from us. There are 2 power options for diesels - standard power bogie or Ron Chaplin gearbox and drive. We stock the full range of wheels for our kits.
Q. Can we order wheels and motors to receive with the kit?
A. Yes, we stock the full range of wheels and power units.
Q. Does JLTRT use recorded delivery?
A. All our kits are sent via UPS, fully guaranteed.
Q. How much is delivery for kits, paint, accessories etc.
A. Orders are charged at current post office rates, depending on package size and weight. There is a £4 postage charge for each aerosol paint, due to the specialised packaging required for transporting pressurised containers.
Q. How can I pay for my order?
A. By credit or debit card over the phone or by cheque or cash if attending a show or visiting in person.
Q. I’ve broken/lost a part how much to replace this?
A. All kits are fully guaranteed. First time replacements are free of charge, whether parts are lost broken or mistakenly assembled. Second time replacements will incur a cost however.
Q. What type of glue should I use to assemble my kit?
A. We recommend the use of the Zap range of glues. These are available from JLTRT - using any other type of glue will invalidate our kit guarantee.
